Sustainable destination management, Public–Private Dialogue simulations and strengthening coordination between NCI and public authorities were key focus areas of the three-day tourism workshop successfully held from February 2–4 at Thinnai Hotel, Jaffna. The workshop, organized by OAV – German Asia-Pacific Business Association in collaboration with the Northern Chamber of Industries (NCI), was conducted under the theme Sustainable Tourism & Strategic Planning 2026–2030, bringing together key tourism stakeholders of the Northern Province, with facilitation by international experts from German Mascon Tour. A major milestone of the workshop was the establishment of a Tourism Task Force under the leadership of the NCI Chairman, strengthening collective action towards a resilient, sustainable and investment-friendly tourism sector in the Northern Province. Hoteliers, Guest House Oweners, Tour Operators, Tour Guides, Northern Province Tourism Bureau (NPTB) Chairman, NCI Directors and staff participated in the workshop.
